Terms of Service

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of WPPilot. By installing the SitePilot plugin, connecting a site, or using the WPPilot web application, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Service Description

WPPilot is an AI-powered site management service for WordPress. It consists of:

  • A WordPress plugin ("SitePilot") that provides read and write access to your WordPress site's content, configuration, and file system
  • A web application at app.getwppilot.com that provides the conversational interface, Briefing, and management tools
  • Backend services that perform AI analysis, security scanning, and action execution

2. Plugin License

The WPPilot WordPress plugin is distributed under the GNU General Public License v2 or later (GPLv2+), as required by WordPress.org plugin directory guidelines. The plugin source code is available on WordPress.org.

The backend services, web application, and AI models are proprietary and provided as a hosted service. The GPLv2+ license applies only to the WordPress plugin component.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use WPPilot to:

  • Generate, distribute, or promote content that is illegal, harmful, or violates third-party rights
  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits, cost ceilings, or access controls
  • Use the AI to generate malware, exploit code, or security attack tooling
  • Misrepresent AI-generated content as human-written in contexts where disclosure is required
  • Access other users' sites or data through the service

4. Service Tiers

WPPilot offers a free tier and paid subscription tiers. The free tier includes site analysis (Briefing), conversational access, security monitoring (Watchtower), and read-only detection. Paid tiers add action execution, active threat response, and advanced features.

The current price, included usage, and limits for each tier are shown before you subscribe at app.getwppilot.com. We may change the features, usage limits, or price of a tier; if a change affects a tier you are actively subscribed to, we will give you reasonable advance notice by email, and the change will take effect on your next billing cycle. The free tier may include monthly usage limits, which are described in the app.

5. Data and Privacy

Your use of WPPilot is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

6. AI-Generated Content

WPPilot uses AI models (currently Anthropic Claude) to generate Briefings, conversation responses, and action previews. While we strive for accuracy:

  • AI-generated analysis may contain inaccuracies or miss relevant context
  • Security scan results should not be considered a substitute for professional security auditing
  • You are responsible for reviewing action previews before executing changes to your site
  • WPPilot provides rollback capabilities, but you should maintain independent backups of your WordPress site

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WPPilot is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will detect or prevent every security issue.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WPPilot and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the service — including data loss, site downtime, or security incidents that occur despite Watchtower monitoring. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 100.

You are responsible for maintaining independent backups of your WordPress site. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

8. Dispute Resolution

If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at legal@getwppilot.com so we can try to resolve it informally. We will try to resolve disputes informally before any formal proceeding.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which WPPilot's operating entity is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of that jurisdiction will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that is not resolved informally, except that either party may seek relief in small-claims court where eligible. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights you have under the mandatory law of your country of residence.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the email address associated with your WPPilot account. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
